The scaly baguette was being fussy about his food so I cooked him an omelette of sorts again.

It's just an egg, some shredded baby spinach, grated carrot and cucumber, cooked without oil for just long enough to set. Blue tongue skinks love eggs, which guarantees that Jerry will eat the embedded salad

The reason for this is that he flat out refused to eat his food yesterday, which was canned black soldier fly larvae (a.k.a. calciworms) with salad. These are supposedly great for any lizard that eats insects because they are really nutritious (in particular being high in calcium) but Jerry does not consider them food at all. I don't know what it is about them that puts him off. He's happily eaten every other type of insect feeder I've ever offered him, and blue tongues are by nature opportunistic omnivores that will generally eat anything that's even slightly edible.
