On federation, blocked servers and adjacency, longish ramble

Like a lot of instances, ours blocks most of the problematic freeze-peach servers and doesn’t federate with them. For those that aren’t defederated, I mute and block users.

Then along comes a new server, it might even be a single-user instance, and they follow me. I check out their timeline in my client and it’s clean, so I don’t block them. I might even follow them back if their bio is interesting.

What I haven’t noticed is that their timeline is full of interactions with blocked users and instances, because my client isn’t displaying them.

I don’t like that this happens. It puts me and my mutuals in danger. It may lead to a mutual challenging me, rightly, about why I follow that user when it is interacting with other toxic instances.

I don’t know how to solve this. Advice is solicited.

I LOVE happy drunks. I think they're are just so free and beautiful.
Anyway, not many of em.

Lots of angry footy fans around Richmond. God, I hate the footy.

like 10+ years ago, unilever were giving out tampons and pads at my uni, and I took a bunch, but not enough because I need more.

My friend is taking me out for a night on the town 🥰
We're going to a restaurant that only tells you where it is after you book, and then a cocktail bar I haven't been to yet!

I wake up at 6:30am most days. I have an alarm for 8:30am, just in case.
It just went off, and I had the feeling I was late for a flight or something!
Freelancers have weird relationships with alarms I think!

Scoped the shed this evening. SO MUCH EXCELLENT MATERIAL

Running quickly off to Shepp, to do lots of tapping and bashing in a mate's dad's shed.

I love the combination of Sichuan pepper and cumin!
Marinated the tofu and cauliflower in soy, garlic, Chinese cooking wine, and garlic. Coat in corn starch and salt, then fry.
Roast Sichuan pepper corns and cumin seeds, then add salt and grind.
Stir fry julienned carrots and sliced red onion in sesame oil.
Add sliced fresh chillies, and Asian greens.
Add fried tofu and cauliflower to mix
Add spice pepper and cumin mix.
Serve on rice!

I'm watching (somehow skipped the 2021 season), and it's nice to see that the contestants all hate cutting out patterns as much as I do. It takes so long, and is back aching work!
I've ordered a fold out trestle table, so that I'm less stuck on the floor and coffee table. Not just for though! Also for work, as I need to dive in to a lot of sound design, and need to set up a bigger station.

New project. Pants! This fabric is so shiny, soft, and diagonally stretchy. The stretch makes it so hard to cut with rotary cutter, so I had to use scissors the whole way. Bootleg high waist flowy pants. Excited!

one bucket hat finished! I've been making these orange bucket hats, thinking of Wayward Strand. They're made from a bunch of orange scraps I bought from a shop in Adelaide. And then the inside is a bee print! 🐝 I think is suitable for wayward because they're busy, they're part of a team, and also they bumble about the sky haha!
This is one, I finished last night. The other is almost finished!
