@derek Hey, DT! Have you seen Bedrock Linux (bedrocklinux.org)? What do you think about the idea of meta distribution?

You know, the auto-playing videos feature... I just found out when it is actually useful - NEVER! NOT EVER!

Announcement :clapping:

I've launched a sister site called aus.party

Aus.party is a "Mobilizon" instance - Offers an alternative to Facebook Groups and Facebook Events!

So if you want to run public events or public groups (or migrate away from Facebook). Please consider giving it a look.

This is a "newish" service and will improve over time.

P.S. This instance is connected with deffo.com.au so events will be shared (run by our friends at chinwag)

The Arch experience:

1. Update entire system
2. Reboot with new kernel
3. New updates available!

...and I actually love it for that 🤗

Wow! What an influx of new members! It is fantastic! Looks like FB shot itself in the leg, no both legs, no the head!

Hello to all of our (30+) new Neighbours to aus.social.

I'll keep an eye on the server, but if we experience any problems.. I'll upgrade the server to support the extra people tonight.. *Waves* :vibing:

Talking about Go 1.16, this is a release to be excited about. Here are some of my personal highlights:

- fs.FS interface. This should make a bunch of filesystem operations agnostic to the underlying storage service.

- Clean up of 'go get' vs 'go install'

- Embedding files into binaries
- Smaller binaries
- Faster linking
- darwin/arm64 support

It's been 11 hours since the release of Go 1.16 and Arch still doesn't have it packaged 🤣

Starting to question my distro choices...

is probably the best thing that happened in the world of email clients! Loving it! Sorry, , good old friend.

Just occurred to me. When somebody asks me: "Why can't you do it yourself?" My answer should be: "I'm not limited in my ability, I'm limited in my capacity."

I am probably a bit
