I think with the stress of my current situation, I need to keep a close eye on my brain chemistry. Found myself going a bit whizzy last night.
Whilst whizzy is good for getting shit done, I've seen what happens when it's unchecked. Increased my quetiapine from its maintenance dose to something more clinical, which seemed to work.
Keeping a close watch on myself today - but I always carry valium, so first aid available.
Until a senior MH nurse (bless you, Fred) framed it all in a somatic/chemical context, it would never have occurred to me that I could self-manage a Bad Brain with a pharmaceutical toolkit in the same way that I do with Addison's.
Because I hadn't picked up on the very obvious MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH.
