I was going to send a toot and realised I haven't made an #introduction yet. My name is Mark and I'm a geek in his (he/his) mid-40's into all things sci-fi/fantasy. My politics align with people like Terry Pratchett, so quite left but rather cynical about the buggers in charge. I work as a Business Intelligence Analyst, which always gets a laugh about oxymoron's, but after trying to hold down a position in Academia as a Bioinformatician I rather enjoy the stability.

I am married to a real scientist with whom I am raising a cat called Cleo.

I was born in Ireland and have chosen to be an Australian.
