Short statement regarding Switter and the fediverse.
Thanks to everyone who calls this and our sister instances home. The fediverse is an interesting experiment I hope has a long fruitful life.
The shutter of switter has increased my personal concerns as an admin of this bright little corner of the internet. There is NO RISK to aus.social, but I do need to prepare for the worst. Seems government intervention is not impossible in the long run, regarding the eSafety bills or existing data retention laws.
